MEET THE CAST OF HAMLET
LIJESH KRISHNAN, (Prince Hamlet), grew up in Kuwait and his native India before spending a decade in the Twin Cities and its vibrant theater community. In the Bay Area, he has acted and directed with several companies including Theater of Others, Actors’ Ensemble of Berkeley, Ninjaz of Drama, Those Women and Aluminous. His recent Shakespeare credits include Edgar, Hotspur, Beatrice, Tranio, Falconbridge and Iachimo. Other roles include The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Jesus), Pride and Prejudice (Darcy), The Understudies (Evadne), Killer Joe (Joe), The Balcony (Envoy).
FEDERICO EDWARDS (King Claudius, Ghost of Old Hamlet) is a veteran performer of both East and West coast stage productions. He's performed with Ninjaz of Drama since 2008 in many of their productions, most notably in "Othello, Moor of Venice" (Othello) A Midsummer's Night Dream" (Nick Bottom), "Much Ado About Nothing" (Benedick), "Romeo and Juliet" (Friar Laurence), and last Summer in King Lear (Edmund). For appearances in Theatre Of Others: "Measure For Measure (Provost), "Taming of the Shrew" (Hortensio), "Cymbeline" (Cymbeline), and most recently "Merchant of Venice" (Shylock).
GEOFFREY COLTON (Lord Polonius, 1st Gravedigger, Music composer) was Lear in Ninjaz’s King Lear in 2016. He was seen most recently in Tomfoolery in Piedmont, as Mr. Kirby in You Can’t Take it With You at CCCT, Mr. Bennet in a musical Pride & Prejudice with IAM Theater, and roles in Ross Valley’s Ladies of the Camellias, SF Shakes’ Romeo & Juliet and New Conservatory Theatre’s Other Desert Cities. He has understudied for Berkeley Rep and Cal Shakes. Geoffrey is a veteran of over a hundred stage productions, many with SF’s Lamplighters including Major General (Pirates), Sir Joseph (Pinafore), Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady), Lord Chancellor (Iolanthe), Falke (Die Fledermaus), Pooh-Bah (Mikado) and more. Other roles: Pangloss (Candide), Cervantes/Quixote (Man of La Mancha), Murray (A Thousand Clowns).
EMILY LUDLOW (Ophelia, 2nd Gravedigger) is honored TO BE playing Ophelia, a dream role for almost a decade. A Bay Area native, Emily studied Theatre Arts and History at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and Shakespeare text and performance at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts in London. She was mostly recently seen as Belinda in Marin Onstage's production of The Public Eye. Favorite roles include Edgar in King Lear, Louisa in Persuasion, Vera in A Month in the Country and Sarah in the world premiere of Pleiades. Next up she will be playing Theseus and Fairy One in Theatre of Other's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
ARCADY DARTER (Laertres, Dance choreography) is thrilled to perform with Ninjaz of Drama once again. They were previously seen in the company's production of Romeo and Juliet (Tybalt, Lady Capulet) Other favorite roles include Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick) the title role in Macbeth (Theater of Others), and the world premiere of Spell Eternity (Torva/Bo) with Quantum Dragon.
ALAN QUISMORIO (Guildenstern, Priest), most recently served as Bindlestiff Studio's Artistic Director. Previous to this tenure, he functioned as Artistic Director of AlchemySF at the Jon Sims Center (1999-2004) and with the Asian American Theater Company (AATC) (2008-2010). He oversaw AlchemySF, the emerging playwrights program at the Jon Sims Center, where he developed new works by Bay Area playwrights. He has worked extensively in the SF Bay Area, with the Magic Theatre, Oakland Public Theatre, Brava! Women in the Arts, the Shotgun Players, and Word for Word. He is also an alumni of Crowded Fire Theater Company. He was last seen cavorting with the Ninjaz of Drama in last year's "King Lear" (Duke of Cornwall, Doctor).
Myles Wynn ( Rosencrantz, Francisco and Sailor) is excited to be doing his 5th Shakespeare show with the company Ninjaz of Drama. His past roles with the company have included: Roderigo in "Othello" and Sir Tobey Belch in "Twelfth Night." He recently performed in "KingJohn" with the company Theater of Others, taking on 3 roles to keep up his character actor status. Myles has a Bachelor's Degree In Theater Arts from UCSC and spent four months interning for Marin Shakepeare Company back in 2007.
GREG GUTTING (First Player, Osric). Fresh off a new found love for the works of William Shakespeare, Greg is thrilled to be working again with Ninjaz Of Drama, where he appeared, last Summer, in "King Lear" (Duke of Albany, Knight). For Theatre Of Others he recently appeared in "Merchant of Venice" (Prince of Aragon", "King John" (A Lord), "Cymbeline"'(First Lord, Gentleman), "Macbeth" (King Duncan), "Taming of the Shrew, (The Lord). Currently, Greg will be appearing in Theatre Of Others' presentation of "The Roaring Girl" by Thomas Middleton (Sir Alexander Wengrave).
JACKIE HASLAM (Courtier, Second Player) is excited to be working with the Ninjaz of Drama for the first time and in "Hamlet", no less. She was introduced to this group by her son Ethan who in, 2012, performed with the Ninjaz in "Othello" (Duke of Venice) and "Twelfth Night" (Sir Andrew Auguecheek) ; and since then she's been waiting for an opportunity to contribute. So thank you all.
TIM FOLEY (Marcellus, Third Player) has performed in numerous productions and trained as an actor at Berkley Rep. This is his first opportunity to perform with Ninjazs of Drama. He was involved in the creation of a children’s theater company in San Diego called “Kroc Kids”. He currently does playback theater with an arts ensemble for at risk children and adults. Deep appreciation to his wife Cindy for her support, to Rey and this wonderful cast of actors for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing production of Hamlet. Sent from my iPhone
TRACY BAXTER (Bernardo, Fourth Player) is an Oakland-based writer who will sing, dance, or act at the drop of a hat. She recently appeared in the Theatre of Others’ production of “The Merchant of Venice” and is a new playwright whose very first work, KUDZU 2012, was a semifinal selection of the 2016 Bay Area Playwrights Foundation festival.
Polina Litvak (Stage Manager) is a Bay Area based actor and stage manager, and is very excited to be working on the production of such an iconic play. Previous stage management credits include: Caeneus and Poseidon (Dragon Productions), The Importance of Being Earnest (Actors Ensemble of Berkeley), and, as an ASM, Things Reveal Themselves Passing Away (RE:ACT) and Twelfth Night (Actors Ensemble of Berkeley). Previous acting roles include: Gull/Tearcat in The Roaring Girl (Theater of Others), Bowl in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (CCSF). Her next appearance will be as Humphrey in The Knight of the Burning Pestle (Actors Ensemble of Berkeley).
